Donations to WabiSabi
Generous people donate to the WabiSabi thrift stores every day, and volunteers log countless hours assisting us at the stores and with various projects and workshops. We wouldn’t exist without such a supportive community.
For those of you looking to contribute to WabiSabi – whether it is with financial assistance, donated items, or time – you’ll find some specifics below. Also, for a reminder of the items accepted at each of our locations, go to our Thrift Stores page.
Furniture and Building Materials
These are accepted only at the Warehouse location. Stop by or call 435.259.3313 for more information. And a reminder: We don’t accept large appliances (i.e.: washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc.).
Volunteering
From the very beginning, volunteers have been the lifeblood of WabiSabi; and today, we still thrive on your generosity. IRS Publication 526 "Charitable Contributions" has more details and can be downloaded from the irs.gov Web site, as can IRS Publication 561, "Determining the Value of Donated Property," which helps value everything from donated clothing to cars. The IRS will only allow a deduction for the fair market value of a vehicle, which may be substantially different from the "blue book" value.
