Leah Bear

Leah Bear, Executive Director moved to Moab in 2019. Leah fell in love with the community and the beautiful red rock that surrounds it. She gladly took the director position in September of 2022 as she has a strong passion for helping others. She is originally from Florida but since college, has lived in Germany, Colorado, and North Carolina before making the move to Moab where she now considers home. Leah has a background in retail management. Her job took her to Germany opening new stores, including the second highest grossing store in the company leading a team of 16 managers and 130 employees. She has a masters in psychology and she used that degree to practice counseling at a behavior hospital back in Florida. Leah stands behind Wabi Sabi being so much more than a thrift store. She has the intent to lead Wabi Sabi in the direction of serving the community in the most impactful way possible. By partnering with other nonprofits, working together can benefit this community in the way it deserves. Leah is a triple crowner having hiked the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide trail amongst other long trails. Aside from hiking, Leah enjoys trail running, time on the water, reading and fostering pups from Underdog Ranch (another nonprofit in Moab).
